Premium health insurance: the widest cover, no compromises

No copayments, cost reimbursement, full dental cover and international healthcare assistance. For anyone who doesn't want limits.

What is premium health insurance?

Premium health insurance is the top category in the private health market. As well as everything a complete plan with no copayments gives you, it adds exclusive benefits such as reimbursement of medical costs, full dental cover and healthcare assistance abroad.

It's the option for anyone who wants maximum freedom in choosing their doctor and hospital, without the constraints of a fixed medical network.

What does premium cover include?

Everything in a complete plan, plus:

Reimbursement of medical costs

The most distinctive feature of premium plans. It lets you go to any doctor, clinic or hospital — inside or outside the network — and claim the costs back. Reimbursement typically runs from 80% to 100% depending on the plan.

Full dental cover

Where other plans give you basic dental cover or none at all, premium plans include:

  • Check-ups and cleanings
  • Fillings and root canals
  • Extractions
  • Dentures
  • Orthodontics (on many plans)
  • Implants (with limits depending on the plan)

International healthcare

Medical cover while you're travelling abroad, including:

  • Emergency medical care
  • Hospital stays
  • Medical repatriation
  • Emergency pharmacy costs
  • Temporary or permanent cover depending on the plan

Exclusive extras

  • Advanced preventive medicine: Full annual health checks with the most advanced tests.
  • Premium private room: The best rooms at leading hospitals.
  • Companion during hospital stays: A bed for someone to stay with you.
  • International second opinion: Consult internationally recognised specialists.
  • Extended mental health cover: A higher number of sessions.
  • Assisted reproduction treatments: Some premium plans include fertility treatment.
  • Medical concierge service: Personal help managing appointments and paperwork.

Who is premium cover right for?

Professionals and executives

Higher earners who value maximum flexibility and quality of care, and who want to choose their doctors freely.

Frequent travellers

If you travel abroad regularly for work or pleasure, the international cover on a premium plan guarantees medical assistance anywhere in the world.

Families who want the best

Families who want the best in paediatric, dental and maternity care, with no limits and no copayments.

Anyone who values freedom of choice

The reimbursement system lets you see any professional, even outside the network, without giving up your cover.

What only premium gives you

  • Total freedom: Choose whichever doctor you want, wherever you want.
  • Real dental cover: Not just check-ups; full treatments included.

Things to bear in mind

  • This is the category with the highest monthly premium.
  • Reimbursement may have annual caps depending on the plan.
  • International cover usually has time limits (for example, trips of up to 90 days).
  • Some advanced dental treatments (such as implants) may have annual limits.
  • Waiting periods are similar to those on complete plans.

Frequently asked questions

How exactly does reimbursement work? You go to the doctor of your choice, pay for the appointment and then submit the invoice to your insurer. Within days or weeks you get back the percentage set out in your policy (usually between 80% and 100%).

Can I use both the network and reimbursement? Yes. If you go to a professional in the network, you pay nothing. If you'd rather go to someone outside it, you use the reimbursement system.

Does dental cover include orthodontics? It depends on the plan. Many premium plans include orthodontics for children and, in some cases, for adults too. It's one of the things worth comparing.

Is the price difference over a complete plan worth it? If you value choosing your own doctor, need dental cover and travel often, the difference is easily justified. We'd suggest working out what you'd spend on dentistry and out-of-network appointments without premium cover.
